This program covers a one year certificate and is designed to provide the foundational knowledge required for all Muslims. It consists of courses on Islamic Beliefs, Theory of Education, Understanding the Quran, Self Development, and Social Wilayah.

No previous formal Islamic education is required for this program.

ORIENT101: Orientation

This courses aims to:
  • Familiarize new students with the student eLearning portal
  • Present the KLC student guidelines, and
  • Introduce the concept of Social Wilayah

EDU101: Islamic Theory of Education

This course looks into the significance of knowledge, teaching, and learning with emphasis on the meaning of true knowledge and the aims of Islamic education. Discussions include explanations on manners and qualities to observe while teaching and learning.

IBS201: Islamic Belief System - Part 1

An in-depth course on the Islamic Belief System. This first part focuses on the unit on Theology which covers the arguments for the existence of God, the attributes of God, and the relation between God and this world.

IBS202: Islamic Belief System - Part 2

An in-depth course on the Islamic Belief System. This second part focuses on the unit on Anthropology which covers the human body and soul, theory of evolution, characteristics of human beings, and the differences between them.

IBS203: Islamic Belief System - Part 3

An in-depth course on the Islamic Belief System. This third part focuses on the unit on Prophethood which covers the concepts of General and Specific Guidance, the characteristics of Prophets, and miracles.

IBS204: Islamic Belief System - Part 4

An in-depth course on the Islamic Belief System. This fourth part focuses on the remaining three units on the Prophet of Mercy, the Hereafter, and Felicity. The covered topics include the characteristics of Prophet Muhammad, the Holy Quran, the Seal of Prophethood, successorship to the Prophet, Proofs for the Hereafter, death and Middle World, Resurrection, and Felicity.

SD101: Self-Development

This course dives into the science of self-development and provides an introduction to practical Islamic spirituality based on a series of essays written by Sheikh Dr. Shomali.

UQ101: Understanding the Quran

This course helps to understand the Holy Quran in a different way by providing great emphasis on building a spiritual bond with the Holy Book.

This program covers a two year diploma and is designed to expand on the knowledge gained in the previous program. It will be especially useful for parents, educators, community volunteers, those involved in interfaith work, and those interested in pursuing further studies.

A series of in-depth discussions on the theory of Social Wilayah as well as a series on the related topic of Followership.

IMAM201: Lessons on Imamah and Wilayah

This course covers some of the major aspects of the subjects of Imamah and Wilayah. Discussions include the definition of Imamah, the Ahl al-Bayt, the roles of an Imam, how the Imam is selected, the requirements for an Imam, as well as demonstrations from the Quran and Hadith.
