Kawthar Learning Circle – Youth Program
Seeking knowledge is a journey, and the Kawthar Learning Circle Youth Program is one station on your path to learning more about Allah (swt) and Islam.
Program Overview
The Youth Program is an ENGLISH web-based educational platform which is:
- Designed for Muslimahs aged 14 to 21
- Comprised of four learning streams: 101, 201, 301, Honours
- Active from September to June
- Promotes knowledge in a culturally diverse setting
- Includes independent study, weekly discussions, spiritual challenges, and live webinars with Shaykh Shomali
- Community-based, including social wilayah gatherings with the KLC community
The Learning Environment
Mubahatha (discussion sessions) support student development by:
- Enhancing comprehension of study materials
- Improving communication and listening skills
- Assisting proper inquiry and response
- Supporting memorization
Social Wilayah
Social Wilayah is the soul of Islam, encouraging believers to treat one another as family. Relationships are built on communication with dignity, respect, and honour.
Istiqamah
Istiqamah (uprightness, steadfastness, perseverance) is essential for success. Challenges may arise, but istiqamah ensures perseverance.
Expectations
- A sincere desire to understand Allah (swt) and Islam
- A determination to commit to the program and attendance
- An openness to engage with peers in a trusting circle
- A willingness to manage time well
- An interest to be challenged and embark on self-discovery

YTG Track Descriptions

| YTG 101 | None | The 101 stream provides an introduction to the concept of The Self and complements these lessons with discussions on self-knowledge. The student will be guided through the arguments to prove the existence of God and then delve into the fundamental beliefs of Shi'a Islam covering aspects of Tawhid and Prophethood. Assessments: A minimum of two per year. |
| YTG 201 | YTG 101 | The 201 track takes the student through the origins, the faith, and the practices of Shi’a Islam with the intention of revisiting the fundamental and the core beliefs. The lessons will then focus on a topic related to the understanding of the Qur’an and its various elements including its origin, its form, its collection and its preservation. Several discussions regarding Imam al-Mahdi's (as) mission will be the subject of reflection and review. Assessments: Minimum two/year. |
| YTG 301 | YTG 201 | The 301 track initiates with a few sessions related to colonialism and its impact, particularly on Islamic education. Then the importance of seeking knowledge and the collective responsibilities towards awaiting Imam al-Mahdi (as) will form part of several lessons. A corresponding thematic novel about the lives of contemporary scholars will be read and a segment on spiritual self-improvement will conclude the year. Assessments: Reflection assignments or exams. |
| Honours | YTG 301 | The Honours program is intended for those students who have expressed an interest in furthering their studies within the YTG program. This track seeks to offer the students a review of certain aspects of usool-e-deen but on a deeper level, to provide opportunities and spaces for Qur’anic reflections on women, to study the lives of the Ahlul Bayt (as) and the female historical presence within Islamic history. In addition, some contemporary Muslimah issues may be discussed. Assessments: Focused mubahatha, short assignments, exams, or a synthesis project. |
Admissions
Applications are reviewed upon submission. Accepted students will be contacted by an Admin and assigned to a coordinator who will confirm the start date and integrate them into a mubahatha group. The Admin team may deem it necessary to interview candidates prior to acceptance.

Youth Track Boys Program (YTB)
The Youth Track Boys program provides Muslim male youths (ages 14–21) with a nurturing space, trustworthy mentors, and guidance towards reclaiming dignity and responsibility as Muslim men.
It helps young men grow into strong, pious, balanced, and dependable Muslims, guided by the nine core values of the Kawthar Learning Circle (KLC).
Graduates develop the conviction that true humanity and manhood are actualized through the sincere and constant pursuit of godly knowledge, under authentic teachers and in the company of truthful friends.

- Deepen their understanding of themselves, their Creator, and their ultimate destination

Eligibility
Students younger than 18 may remain in the YTB until they turn 18. Those aged 18–21 may continue in the program until 21 if they choose.
Success is measured by preparing students to engage in the KLC IF program or other reliable and structured learning platforms — including seminarial studies.

- Reference from a scholar (asset)
- Reference from a KLC student (asset)
- Reference from parents (asset)
