Term-based Curriculum

The Kawthar Learning Circle has started on January of 2016. Since then, only through word of mouth, well over one hundred students from around the world have joined. Students from numerous cities around the world are with us today including Montreal, Toronto, Ottawa, Hamilton, Winnipeg, Vancouver, Edmonton, Michigan, Texas, San Diego, Connecticut, Dar es Salaam, Abu Dhabi, Florida, Cleveland, Pennsylvania, New York, Minnesota, Bhopal and others. Thanks to this our collective experience has been enriched with findings that enable us to take the next step in this learning service.

We are very grateful to be able to announce the beginning of the term-based curriculum that will be driving our 1 year program moving forward. The work load is based on 4 hours a week and approximately 15 minutes of lecture time per day. The year is comprised of 3 terms, namely Fall, Winter and Summer and the study program is one year long. New students are able to join the KLC at the commencement of any of these terms.

Each term is make up of 12 lecture weeks, 2 review weeks, exams for each module at the end of term and 2 weeks for exam corrections. A detailed outline for students is available on the student portal.

End of term exams are available for all courses at the end of each term. Students that are ready to write any exam will be able to do so provided they have completed the necessary prerequisite courses. Exams will be short 2-3 hours closed book assessments. Students must complete their exams by the exam end date specified for each term. Students who fail to write or pass the assessments for the end of term exams for the courses to which they have enrolled, will be given a chance to re-write the exam in the following term. Students who fail to write their exams two terms in a row will be asked to continue their studies independently.

Mabahatha (study) partners are a critical and life-changing component of the learning experience. This being said, it must be driven mostly by the students themselves. Students are heavily encouraged to make the best of the community learning experience at the Kawthar Learning Circle. To facilitate the finding of study partners, which can be 4 maximum, find the "SUPPORT" channel on the channels page.

Students who are experiencing difficulty in forming their study groups are able to reach out to the admin team for assistance.

If you need further assistance with the new curriculum, please reach out to the admin team at kawtharlearningcircle@gmail.com or reach out to any of the admins via Telegram.
